Afternoon flight over local art museum in the neighborhood with cool architecture.
I went for a walk in the neighborhood with my drone, fully charged batteries and empty memory card in the backpack. I ended up launching the drone near the seashore at Høvikodden on a rocky sort of beach a bit away from the path where other people walked and did their afternoon exercise. From here I could fly above the treetops, look out over the ocean and take a quick flight over a nearby art museum called Henie Onstad with cool architecture rarely seen from above.

The building was much bigger than I initially thought and 120 m which are the maximum allowed flying height is actually not much. So I quickly found that taking one snapshot from above the building was impossible. I managed to capture a few of the amphitheater and interesting smaller buildings from above which you can see from the footage below.
The picture showing the whole building is made up of several pictures, manually taken, and stitched together in Photoshop afterward.
I haven’t figured out how to automatically do this kind of straight down panorama picture my setting waypoints but I think there is an app for that. Ordinary horizontal and spherical panoramas can be done with easy straight from the DJI Go 4 app.
Artworks
Other artworks are placed in nature around the art museum. One with a few stone blocks resembles houses that lies in the water was quite cool. I wonder if anyone else has done drone photography of them before? Please let me know. Share, comment and use the pictures if you want. Have a nice day.

Hi Andreas, I really like your site, so crisp and clean. Drones are really cool, I have the DJI Phantom 3 pro, and love it, but was looking at getting the Mavic because of its size etc. I was just worried that its resolution wouldn’t be as good as the phantom pros. These are some great photos from the air that you have taken, keep up the awesome work!
Hi! Thanks for the comment. The Mavic Pro takes 12 mp pictures in 4000×3000 resolution which is about the same as the Phantom 3. It is much easier to store in a backpack and carry on hikes and trips thou. Go for the Mavic Pro. 🙂 Andreas
Hi Andreas. Love the images and videos on your website. I work for architects in Australia and some of our clients on larger projects use a drone pilot like yourself to take some videos for their sales campaigns. It’s just amazing what can be done with drones now, from covering sporting events like winter Olympics to synchronized light shows using hundreds of drones. You’re in a new, exciting field. Thanks for a great post.
Thanks for the comment Greg!
wow. those photos are stunning! I want to visit where you live and see these places, oh my! I am an artist, so fully appreciate the beauty of what you captured. I love that the views are different than what is normally seen – also love the abstract nature of the shapes. my art is very abstract so another reason I fully love this article and every photo within!
Thanks, Corey. 🙂
